Oh my. This is so intrusive, disrespectful, and morally wrong to record without his/their knowledge and then to not stop when asked to. I couldn't even watch past 3:60. I actually felt embarrassed. MH seemed like a normal guy with an extremely cool job, and was really cool to the people that were respectful to him. RIP. Mystify. tras el cantante de inxs. Jim Morrison complex. This extraordinary Australian (documentary) film weaves its deeply moving tale using expertly edited film footage from across Michael Hutchence's far too few years, to present an audience with a flawlessly flowing movie. It is a story of the complexity and often harshness of life for so many brilliantly talented creatives whose intelligence is sometimes too much for a single brain to handle. The commentary is all soundbites from his friends and associates and his story unfolds in pretty much chronological order. 'Mystify' is also a touching treatment of depression and how it can grab hold and destroy in some cases.
Although we know how the story will end, it is handled with compassion and nuance and is quite powerful.
I'd thoroughly recommend this movie. It is moving, rather than depressing. We can all learn lessons from the lives of others and 'Mystify' teaches us lessons at every turn.

Recensione di Tirza Bonifazi Tognazzi Hector Lavoe è stato uno dei più grandi cantanti di salsa della storia. Veniva da Porto Rico, ma si era trasferito a New York con la famiglia a diciassette anni e lì, giovanissimo, aveva trovato la sua strada nella musica come vocalista nell'orchestra di Willie Colón. La sua personale battaglia contro l'industria discografica a colpi di talento (ne aveva da vendere) e carisma non allontanò mai Lavoe dal palco, a farlo furono le droghe alle quali ormai era assuefatto. Parte della sua parabola è narrata nel brano composto da Rubén Blades "El cantante", che appare nell'omonimo film diretto da Leon Ichaso e prodotto da Marc Anthony e Jennifer López in omaggio al grande artista. Nella storia di Lavoe deve averci riconosciuto qualcosa della sua, il cubano americano Leon Ichaso che, arrivato a New York negli stessi anni del grande salsero, ha trovato la sua strada come regista nella città le cui notti sono cadenzate dai ritmi latini. Tant'è che il direttore di cinema era conosciuto per essere uno specialista di realismo urbano. Questo quando ancora operava in maniera indipendente, prima di approdare a Hollywood e dirigere El cantante. Voluto fortemente da Marc Anthony, che offre corpo, movenze e voce all'Hector Lavoe cinematografico - e nella vita è tra gli eredi del salsero portoricano - il film manca di coraggio. Invece di addentrarsi in complicate situazioni legali che da sempre hanno visto case discografiche farsi ricche alle spalle degli artisti, preferisce fare luce sull'aspetto più banale della vita del cantante: il sesso, la droga e la salsa. È la scena latinoamericana, il barrio, visto attraverso la lente hollywoodiana, con tanto di star d'eccellenza, la brava Jenny From The Block, Jennifer López. È un grande show in cui la musica offre il maggiore intrattenimento. L'interpretazione di Marc Anthony è impeccabile, tanto che vien da pensare che abbia passato i pomeriggi della sua adolescenza a imitare il suo idolo davanti allo specchio, con una spazzola in mano e gli occhiali da sole del padre infilati sul naso.
